Inherited goods imported into the United States could not be brought duty-free as household or personal items if they meet the following criteria: • They are antiques (over 100 years old), and you have documentation to prove it. • They are designed for use in a household where they have resided for one year before moving to the United States. It must not be before the inheritance, for example, the year they were in your parents house while you were growing up. Even if the above conditions are not inherited your goods, because most of the inherited assets are used to assess the amount of duty is likely to be small. |
