A patent is a federal grant of an exclusive right of ownership over tangible inventions, including machines, products and processes with the Process component as well as methods of interpreting business. The 1995 changes in U.S. patent rights established the legal life of a patent than 20 years from the U.S. filing for the patent. Copyright protects the intellectual property of authors, composers, photographers, filmmakers and writers created. The protection can be as long as the life of the author and 50 years or up to 100 years to keep from the date of creation. |
