Default Travelling from outside the European Union (EU) - Alcohol & tobacco and UK Customs


You are entitled to bring, without following the free of duty and / or taxes in the UK:

Alcohol

1 liter of spirits or strong liqueurs (About 22% vol), or 2 liters of fortified wine (such as port or sherry), Sparkling wine or other alcoholic beverage
less than 22%;

You can combine these certificates, provided that They do not exceed your total alcohol allowance. For example, if you only bring back 1 liter Fortified wine (50% of the full allowance of 2 Liter), you can also bring back a pint of spirits (50% of the full allowance) to your 100% Alcohol allowance. Please note this is only one Example and other combinations are also permitted.

In addition, you can also bring back:
16 liters of beer and
4 liters of still wines

Tobacco

200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco

You can combine these certificates, provided that They do not exceed your total tobacco allowance. For example, if you bring only 100 cigarettes (50% of the Their full allowance of 200), you can also bring back 25 cigars (50% of the full allowance) to your 100% tobacco allowance. If you are under 17 years, you can not on the Alcohol and tobacco allowances.

Bought alcohol or tobacco in an EU country?

If you paid to bring back customs duties and taxes alcohol or tobacco for personal use, you receive in one EU country do not have this count as part of your Allowance and you do not have to pay more Duty and / or tax on them.
