Default Are nonprofit organizations exempt from paying Customs and Border Protection (CBP) duty on permanent imports?

If your nonprofit organization is permanent importation of goods for religious, educational or scientific purposes, it is possible your goods will be duty-free can. You need a reference to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Chapter XXII, position 9810 to see whether your import complies with the specifications for any of the provisions.

If the goods are imported to your organization at $ 2,000 or more appreciated, you are invited to a formal entry, a customs bond means CBP Form 301 is required to be file. You can use a tariff cap of Treasury-licensed surety company. The bond serves as insurance and CBP, if money has to collect, we collect it against the surety company that issued the coupon. A list of securities is available on the Treasury website, publications, newsletters 570th

You may want to also examine the setting of a Customs broker to make your entry documents in your name file, to simplify handling of your goods. A list of the Customs Brokers can select by state and city are you from importing, and under the information about the city there is a link available to Brokers in this area will be sought.
