An exporter in the U.S. is usually required, a Shippers Export Declaration (SED) prepared when the value of the goods under each Schedule B number classified $ 2,500 or more or a validated export license is required to export the goods. The exporter is responsible for preparing the SED and the carrier files it with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The Shippers export declaration and instructions "to the right way to fill an SED" stand on the Census Bureau's Web site. Before export, the exporter should acquire schedule B number for the goods they export. In most cases this number on the SED to be set in order to identify the goods exported. This number can be from the Census Bureau is available at (301) 763-3047. If the exporter sends luggage or containers with their personal or household goods at $ 2,500 or more will be evaluated to a foreign destination, with the exception of Canada, they must create a SED and the carrier is the SED with the CBP file. However, a Schedule B number is not required. The statement "mission consists of baggage, personal items, etc." enough. If the exporter sending goods by the U.S. Postal Service, they have an SED only if the entire shipment at $ 2,500 or more valued, or if it requires an export permit to prepare. The exporter should submit to the SED to the post. There are cases where an exporter does not prepare a SED. Some examples to be when a SED is not prepared by an exporter and archived by the carrier as follows: Exporters send broadcasts in which the ultimate goal is Canada or a U.S. possession (ie, Guam and Samoa), except for those that do not prepare an export license on a SED. However, if the shipments final destination is the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, the operating company is preparing a SED. Travelers who prepare their budgets with luggage or personal belongings that will not not for sale outside the United States on a SED. Other exceptions can be found in the FAQ "When is a SED is not required?" under the Reference section of the Census Bureau's Web site. |
